DEEP BLUE is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and fish-finding technology, including:

Although DEEP BLUE can accommodate up to 6 clients, I prefer to keep it to 3-5, ideally 4, just so everyone has more opportunity to fish with out waiting their turn. However, ocean conditions will ultimately dictate how many rods we can fish at a time. Tangles are no fun!

My name is Dan Lassen, I’ll be your captain aboard Deep Blue.
I am a certified Captain with the USCG, as well as a licensed Oregon fishing guide. Red Cross certified in First Aid/Adult CPR
SAFETY while on the boat is my number one priority.
The second is that everyone has fun and catches fish!

Dan's Passion for the Ocean
I have had several years on the ocean starting when my dad took me salmon fishing out of Depoe Bay when I was just 9 years old, and after that I was hooked!
I commercial fished for salmon while still in high school with a good friend, in fact, I was running the boat before I had my drivers license.
Having fished for nearly every species of fish our state of Oregon has to offer, both fresh and salt water, though fishing offshore is my passion. I LOVE THE OCEAN!
Experience and Dedication
From 2010 to the present, I have been solely a saltwater fisherman, fishing every season for various species, and have thousands of hours of experience on the ocean, and with the help and tips from good friends, I have tried and proven techniques that target each species ensuring your experience is truly remarkable.
More times than not, bringing back a really good grade of fish, in both size and quantity. Although I will go for any species, my specialties are halibut and tuna, which in my opinion are the premier fish our ocean has to offer in both fight and taste.
